About

The African American Center For Cultural Development (AACCD) will be many things:  a museum, an education center, a community center, a heritage and culture center.  The AACCD intends to preserve and display a portion of nearly one hundred years or more of African American history in the Southern Tier Region of New York State.  Through photographs, displays, books and the spoken memories of the people who grew up in and around the area, the AACCD will strive to tell the story of the African Americans’ past, preserving the heritage for future generations of the local African-American community and the region as a whole.

Serving as a great source of pride for the people who grew up worshiping and attending Sunday school in the building, the AACCD will serve as an active community center, with regular planned events to bring people together for fun, for fellowship, for social events, and for education.
